"With universal search, we've begun blending results from more than just the web in order to provide the most relevant and useful results possible." ... "In addition to web pages, for instance, the search results may include video, news, images, maps, and books. Over time, we'll continue to enhance this blending so that searchers can get the exact information they need right from the search results."

字面的意思是Google日后的搜索结果会采用全面搜索，搜索结果中将更多地加入视频、新闻、图片、地图和电子书检索，摈弃目前默认的单一网页检索。
