Kellysearch expands into US search market
25 February 2004
Kellysearch, the world’s largest B-to-B industrial search engine, has announced that it has entered the US market for online directories.
The new search engine, www.kellysearch.com, adds more than 600,000 US-based companies to its current 2,000,000 company listings, and offers 150,000 searchable product and service listings, making it the largest industrial online directory.
Kellysearch claims that the US launch of the newly enhanced B-to-B search engine provides companies with an inexpensive and easy-to-use search engine to locate products and gather information about potential suppliers.
‘Based on the size of our database and a competitive sponsorship package roughly a third the cost of traditional directories, we think that we are poised to be the serious alternative in the industrial marketplace,’ said Tony Millen, head of marketing at Kellysearch.
‘The database builds business leads, is easy to use and reflects our philosophy of ‘less digging, more results’.’
Kellysearch.com is the online version of Kelly’s Directories, a brand name established in 1799. Launched in January 2001, Kellysearch is a comprehensive online buying guide and features vast resources, combined with speed and accuracy.
A recent survey by Kellysearch found that 69 per cent of UK companies regularly use search engines to locate new products or services for their businesses and 39 per cent choose to turn to search engines first for such services.
